Dear Parents and Child Care Providers,

Many of you have likely heard reports of Swine Flu (H1N1) in the news in recent days. There is currently no need to be alarmed, but we should maintain an informed sense of caution when dealing with flu-like illnesses.

Our intention is to provide you with information so that we are all better educated on this topic and to encourage parents, providers and children to practice good hygiene all year long. Practicing good hygiene also helps prevent common colds, the flu and other ailments that frequently cause children to be ill.

Please review the resources that we have provided from various health authorities. We appreciate your efforts in helping maintain healthy homes, centers and communities.

Estimados padres y proveedores:

Seguramente muchos de ustedes han escuchado sobre el brote de la Influenza Porcina (H1N1) en las noticias últimamente. Actualmente no hay necesidad de alarmarse, pero debemos mantener un sentido de precaución cuando estamos tratando con enfermedades similares al la gripe.

Nuestra intención es proveerle con información para que estemos mejor educados sobre el tópico y para animar a padres, proveedores y niños a que practiquen buena higiene durante todo el año. Practicando buena higiene también ayuda a prevenir el catarro, gripe y otras enfermedades que frecuentemente causan que los niños se enfermen.

Por favor revise los recursos que le hemos proveído de las varias autoridades de salud. Agradecemos sus esfuerzos en ayudar a mantener hogares, centros y comunidades sanas.
